Looking Forward

Every day goes faster
Than the one before
And every year just rolls into the next
And just before you realize
Your future is your past
You ask yourself
Have you done your best

There goes old Stanley
He’s got 17 grand kids
He swears he happy
Blessed by everyone
He loves the wood shop
Making bowls in every size
And his wife Emma, shines a new one every day

I’m looking forward
To those sweet and happy days
I’m looking forward
To having no regrets
I’m looking forward
To that porch just me and you
I’m looking forward
To the good life looking back

There goes Mick, the wick
He’s got 60 pounds of wax
Up in Ohio, burning at both ends
He loves his candles
Makes a new batch every week
And his wife Barb, lights a new one every day

I’m looking forward
To those sweet and happy days
I’m looking forward
To having no regrets
I’m looking forward
To that porch just me and you
I’m looking forward
To the good life looking back
I’m looking forward
To the good life….. looking back
